Warmth Levels
At Abode we specialise in offering a choice of five warmth levels in our Organic quilt range. You can choose from Super Light Comfort, Light Comfort, Medium Warm, Extra Warm or Ultra Warm to suit your individual needs. We liken our Super Light Comfort to the warmth level of one blanket and our Ultra Warm to the warmth of five blankets (Please click on the Size tab for more information on our warmth levels). To determine the warmth of the quilt you require, consider the following factors - individual body temperature, temperature of your bedroom and the season you will use the quilt in. If you are unsure of the warmth level of the quilt you require, we strongly suggest selecting a quilt that is one warmth level less than you think you will need because it is possible to add filling to a quilt, but not to take it out.

Hungarian White Goose Down
The best way to gauge down quality is by measuring its Fill Power and that depends on the quality and size of the down clusters it contains. We use Hungarian white goose down in all our quilts including Organic quilts because it is widely regarded as some of the best quality down found in the world. We use a 650 fill power down that is hand harvested to fill the Organic quilt, which is of an extremely high standard. Our down has been thoroughly cleaned, sterilised, sorted and tested using state of the art German equipment and under strict government supervision.

German Down Proof Fabric
Our Organic quilt shell is made from 100% cotton and woven in a special batiste weave. It is one of the lightest down proof fabrics in the world. Made from the finest long staple Egyptian cotton, then tightly spun and mercerised into yarn in Switzerland, and finally woven on state of the art looms in Germany. This beautiful batiste fabric feels like silk and weighs a third less than traditional quilt shells. Our Organic quilts are the true example of "warmth without weight" down bedding.

Quilt Construction
We use a true box baffle construction for our Organic white goose quilts because over many years, it has proven to be by far the most popular design. The box design has individual sewn through pockets where an even amount of down is encased, preventing down from shifting and creating cold spots. These pockets allow the down to loft and reach it's maximum height and also strengthen the overall quilt. Our shells are expertly made in the traditional European method using internal stitching of the baffle walls to fully prevent any down from escaping and double stitching on all edges for reinforcement.

Confidence in Textiles
All of the fabric used on the Organic quilt shells are guaranteed to meet strict European environmental standards for ecologically safe textiles and to be free from formaldehyde, chlorine, heavy metals and other harmful chemicals. It is important to know that our environment will not be exposed to any toxic textile chemicals in the production process and that you will not be exposed to these chemicals when you sleep.
